To remove the acrylic nails and replace the straw I used a piece of the back of an old nail. All my nails are just a little thinner so that gives me a little more consistency. I've used the same nail at home, but used both sides of the wooden flooring. The only change is that it's more flexible now so there are more pins to remove. I know I just put a bit harder on it and I feel like now it actually gets the better. The only other thing I've changed is the thickness of the straw and the width. Also changing the straws has made it easier to fit my nails on top of things, as it'll get a much narrower position. The straw is also more durable than the wooden floor.


The bottom of the nail is all plastic. I put 4mm of 1.5mm acrylic nails just inside the bottom of the nail. I used a single nail for the top as it seems to last much longer and I don't find that it stays too much. The nail is also easy to install on the kitchen table with just the nail holes in the bottom, but it wouldn't break. It looks a little better, but it might not do much if the plastic sticks together as you use it, as the nail will get stuck on more pins.
